A NEW BEGINNING
Today’s Scripture: Genesis 12:1,4 [NLT] The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family, and go to the land that I will show you. 4 So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed.”
Abram’s obedience to God’s instruction has literally changed our world. He left the familiar and embraced the unknown. He chose to “walk by faith, and not by sight.” This year our heavenly Father is calling us to be open to embracing the unknown. Covenant Life Church is embracing the unknown as we become the stewards of a church building and the land that has been given to us, debt free! God said to us, “Leave the Pratt Learning and Leadership Center in October of 2023 (Nolan Middle School-where we met for 16 months, the familiar) and go to a place I will show you.” LifeWay Fellowship was the Father’s “land” He would show us. What is the familiar that God will ask you to leave in 2025? Will you be like Abram and obey and embrace the unknown? Your “yes” to God’s “go” could literally change your world as well as the world of others.
Scripture
Isaiah 43:18-19 [TEV] But the Lord says, “Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. 19 Watch for the new thing I am going to do.”
Confession: I will be looking for the “New Beginning.” I will not dwell on the events that are in my past or what happened many years ago. I am intensely watching for the new thing God wants to do in my life.
Hebrews 11:8 [AMP] “[Urged on] by faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance; and he went, although he did not know or trouble his mind about where he was to go.”
I will embrace the unknown when God calls me to go to the place I am destined to receive my inheritance. And I will not be troubled in my mind concerning God’s timing for His timing is perfect. I am at peace.
2 Corinthians 5:7 [GWT] “Indeed, our lives are guided by faith, not by sight.”
Confession: My life is guided by my faith in God and in obedience to His Word. I do not have to see everything He has for me before I act in faith and walk in obedience to His Word and Jesus’ Lordship in my life. I will see and experience the “New Beginning” God has for me in 2025.
Prayer
Father, I ask that you open my heart and mind to all that You are doing in 2025. Your plans and purpose for my life are so much greater that I can understand. May I be like Abraham, hear Your voice, and be obedient to the directions you are giving me. I will embrace the “New Beginning” in my life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.
